Step by Step process for APT Licensing
(APT: Academic Pathway to Teaching. Obtaining your level 1 teaching license with a bachelor's degree and PRAXIS test.)APT:
- Background check:
- Initiate the Background check here: https://secure.utah.gov/elr/welcome.html; you will need to have your fingerprints done via live scan. This can be done at the Ogden School District Offices at 20th and Monroe. You will need a printout from online.
- You will need the date of completion for your application.
- Ethics Review:

- Praxis tests:

Once you have completed these things, you need to complete the application and submit it.

APT Upgrade to Level 2:
Once you have taught for 3 years with a mentor, you can upgrade to a standard Level 2 Teaching License.
